Also, Carlisle is well known for hosting nine national car and truck shows a year from April through October at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.

Outdoors enthusiasts will not be disappointed when staying at Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast. Be sure to pack hiking boots, your rod and tackle or your bike!
The inn is located an easy ½ mile walk from the world-renowned Appalachian Trail. Go for a trail run, a day hike, or plan to stay with us if you're a section hiker. In the autumn months, watch the raptor migration at Waggoner's Gap Hawk Watch, or pack a picnic and visit Pinchot State Park, or Pine Grove Furnace State Park. We also cater to bicyclists – we have shelter and bike storage space in our barn and an area for repairs & maintenance with a bicycle stand. Spots for fishing are nearby too – our pond has lots of large mouth bass and carp. Also, some of the best limestone streams in the nation are right here in Cumberland Valley. The Yellow Breeches Creek, Big Spring Creek and LeTort Spring Run are only minutes from our door. All 3 are Class-A Fly-Fishing waters.
