It's Fall and You Know What that Means ...
It's Festival Time!

The Carlisle area and the Cumberland Valley are gearing up for their 2019 Festival Season. As fall rapidly approaches, so do the many opportunities for you to visit one, or more, of the seasonal festivals held throughout the Cumberland Valley.

Whether you're from New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, or small-town USA, we're sure you'll find a festival to meet your desire to escape for a weekend of fall fun in the country. Throughout the months of September and October, Cumberland Valley and the greater Carlisle area celebrate the season with festivals for you to enjoy. Here is a small sampling of some the fall activities (you can see the complete schedule of festivals at the Cumberland Valley Visitor's Website):

National Apple Festival (Oct 5-6 & 12-13; Biglerville) – Tasty treats, antique and classic cars, antique farm equipment, orchard tours, hay rides, and of course APPLES!

Pennsylvania Tea Festival (Sep 27 & 28; Mechanicsburg) – This two-day annual event includes tea tastings and culture, a variety of merchants and vendors, and musical entertainment.

Sunflower Festival (Sep 28 & 29; Meadowbrook Farm, Carlisle) – The second annual sunflower festival includes acres and acres of sunflowers, trolley rides, a corn maze, food trucks and the famous Meadowbrook Farms' gourds.

OktoberFest (Oct 4-6; Army Heritage and Education Center, Carlisle) – This one is FREE. The Carlisle Barracks has hosted the Oktoberfest since 2008 and it's an event filled with entertainment, games, activities, carnival rides and the unveiling of the official brew of the U.S. Army War College.

38th Annual Harvest of the Arts Festival (Sept 28; Carlisle) – The 38th Annual Harvest of the Arts Festival, held in historic downtown Carlisle, hosts over 120 artists music performed by local and regional artists. There are also two large food courts and a European & Luxury Sports Car Show.
