Welcome to Pheasant Field, a Carlisle bed & breakfast, where you will enjoy casual, country elegance in our historic brick farmhouse.
Our B&B inn is conveniently located just east of Carlisle, Pennsylvania - an easy drive to Gettysburg, Hershey, Harrisburg, Boiling Springs, Mechanicsburg, and Amish country. Our Carlisle, PA lodging features seven guest rooms - one of which is wheelchair accessible. We also offer pet friendly lodging, overnight horse boarding, and extended stay lodging in our one-bedroom apartment. You can relax by hiking on the Appalachian Trail or fly fishing in the Yellow Breeches or the LeTort Spring Run. Our B&B is a perfect site for weddings, receptions, special gatherings, retreats, and family reunions.
Carlisle is famous for collector car shows held at the Carlisle Fairgrounds during the spring, summer, and fall. Dickinson College, Messiah College, and Penn State's Dickinson School of Law are also located nearby. The US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks - also home of the Carlisle Indian School, Jim Thorpe's alma mater - is just 3 miles from our bed and breakfast.
Business travelers will be pleased to know that we offer high-speed, wireless Internet access, use of our printer, and desktop power sockets. The comfort of the historic home, coupled with our convenient location and high-tech amenities, makes Pheasant Field B&B a wonderful hotel lodging alternative for corporate travel.
As part of our concierge services, we provide a book containing menus from local restaurants, suggest specific restaurants based on food and style preferences, and make dinner reservations. Local itineraries with some hidden gems are available for adventurous guests that want to experience some local history and get a taste of central Pennsylvania. Local maps, with directions, are provided to tourist attractions, restaurants, and other places of interest.
We offer pick-up and drop-off service to thru hikers of the Appalachian Trail. These guests enjoy a room for the night, a hot shower, and a respite from their hike, while they stock up on supplies near the mid point of their journey.
Central PA "Hot List": The June issue of Central PA
Magazine featured the "Hot List" for 2010. Readers of Central PA
Magazine voted for their favorite restaurants, shopping, theaters,

outdoor venues for family fun. Pheasant Field B&B is
honored to be at the top of the hot list of Bed & Breakfasts in the 'Leisure time' options. We thank all the readers of Central PA Magazine

"hot" leisure venue!
Cookbook: Our new cookbook is selling like hot cakes! "Pheasant Field
Favorites" is a collection of the best loved recipes used here at the
B&B and also includes recipes from guests, family, and friends.
The cookbook makes a wonderful gift and a nice memento of your stay at
Pheasant Field B&B in Carlisle, PA. When you are in the Carlisle area, stop in at The Kitchen Shoppe or Whistle Stop Bookshop to buy your copy. You may also call us or send an email to
order your cookbook today. Watch our blog and these notes for information on a cooking class using our "Pheasant Field Favorites". The class will be held at The Kitchen Shoppe and Cooking School in December. It will be a fun getaway weekend before the rush of the holiday season.
Bird Watching: Summer is a wonderful time for bird watching at Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast. The 3 acre pond on our property makes a great feeding place for a number of "water birds", including Snowy Egrets, Green Herons, King Fishers, and Great Blue Herons. We also have at least one Baltimore Oriole nesting near the pond. Bring your binoculars for some great bird watching!
New Project: We are working to improve the appearance of Pheasant Field B&B. At the entrance in the back of the house, we removed 40 year old wood siding, thinking that we would replace the rotted wood with new composite siding. To our surprise, we discovered brick underneath the old wood! We decided to keep the brick at the back of the house. Our next project over the summer may be to add a pergola at the back door and on the patio. We are thinking through the design and building project. Keep watching for the changes to the B&B.
